2005 Memorial Golf Tournament

The 2005 Johnny Leathers, Jr. Memorial Awareness Banquet and Golf Tournament was blessed to have raised $15,000 for the Johnny Leathers,
Jr. Memorial Fund of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The funds raised will be used to help fund a confidential screening
program for students at Morehouse College and Emory University by bringing awareness and counseling help directly to the students online. Your generous
support may very well help provide the life line needed to save a college
student’s life in the Atlanta area.
The first Johnny Leathers, Jr. Memorial
Awareness Banquet was held on the eve of the tournament and was blessed
with 65 dinner guests who enjoyed a gourmet meal, silent auction, delightful
array of door prizes, Keynote Speaker Dr. Phil Ninan of Emory University and
honored with the presence of William Grard, Development Director, at AFSP
who flew in from New York City just to attend the banquet.
The second
Johnny Leathers, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament was blessed with 80 players
who feasted on a BBQ buffet lunch, played 18 holes on a sun drenched golf
course, and enjoyed appetizers during the raffle and awards presentation. We hope you will join us next year in this ongoing effort to raise awareness
and save lives.
