The Johnny Foundation would like to thank you for your
support and contribution to the 6th annual Johnny Leathers, Jr. Memorial
Golf Tournament held on May 2, 2009.
The weather held out well until the last few holes when
it poured rain but the players did not let that dampen their
determination, just most of their clothing. We are so thankful for God
blessing us with 73 golfers, 16 volunteers, great breakfast provided by
Chickfila of Canton, delicious lunch from Longhorn of Canton, special
music by bagpiper, Winter Taylor, awesome photography by Michael Beck
and $12,000 being raised.

Michael’s plea before clicking “enter”.)
We are excited to use this year’s funds to benefit people in our local
area and will be contributing $6,000 to the American Foundation of
Suicide Prevention-Atlanta Chapter which will be used to help sponsor
the Out of the Darkness Walk being held in October in Atlanta and help
establish an online screening program with one of the area colleges. We
pray these efforts will help identify and encourage students who might
be struggling with depression to know how to get help when they have
nowhere else to turn as suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in
ages 15-24
We will also contribute $6,000 to the Johnny Leathers Jr. Memorial Fund
established with Dr. Brenda Wagner in Roswell, GA to help fund
counseling for anyone suffering with depression but not able to pay for
sessions. The first 2 months of this year 6 people were helped from last
year’s contribution and because of your support this year we are able to
continue to help others get help without having to wait for insurance
approval or a pay check which may come too late or not at all.
Your contribution is what makes this all possible. We may never know how
many lives will be touched because of your generosity and we are blessed
to have your support.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we strive to shine God’s
light by providing help and hope to those who struggle with an illness
that makes them believe and feel that they are living the worst day of
their life every day of their life.
Thank you for being a blessing to The Johnny Foundation,
